The SunHeater® S601P is a modular DIY solar pool heater designed specifically for rooftop installation on above-ground and inground swimming pools. Each S601P system includes two 2' × 20' solar collector panels, providing a total of 80 square feet of solar heating surface. Because every pool is different, multiple S601P systems can be combined to achieve the recommended solar collector coverage for your pool size and climate.
By using free energy from the sun, the S601P can help raise pool water temperatures by up to 6–10°F under favorable conditions while reducing or eliminating the operating costs associated with gas, propane, and electric pool heaters. Water is circulated through the solar collectors using your existing pool pump, allowing solar-heated water to return to the pool naturally and efficiently.
Unlike ground-mounted solar pool heaters, the S601P is engineered for rooftop installations and utilizes a reverse-return plumbing configuration. Reverse-return plumbing helps ensure balanced water flow through each solar collector, maximizing heat transfer and system efficiency while reducing flow restrictions in larger solar arrays. This design makes the S601P ideal for installations requiring multiple collectors across a roof surface.
